Paris photo diary, part 1: oui need umbrellas and hairspray

Saint Sulpice
jacket (on sale!): BCBG

Paris was every bit of magic. I didn't think it could be any more beautiful, but then it was. Just like that. Every corner, every street, every door, every pillar, every building, every "every," provided the perfect photo opportunity. C'est magnifique!

The French were pretty awesome. I know they get a bad rep for being "rude," but rude people are everywhere. On our first night, we got so lost trying to find our flat (bonjour Airbnb!) in Montmartre. After walking in circles in the rain, I approached a French girl and asked, "Bonsoir, mademoiselle. Parlez vous Anglais?" Home girl whips out her iphone and starts looking up directions for us. I think as long as you greet them politely and not just demand, "Where's the metro?," they'll be more than happy to help. :)

P.S. This is just the beginning of my Paris photo diaries. More to come. Way more. Oh, and can you can believe all these photos were taken on our first day!?! Looking back, we could've put our cameras down a little more...

Musée d'Orsay

Museums in Paris are quite amazing, even if you don't like art or museums.

Once a train station, now an impressive museum.

“I have always considered imaginative truth to be more profound, more loaded with significance, than every day reality... Everything we dream about, and by that I mean everything we desire, is true (the myth of Icarus came before aviation, and if Ader or Bleriot started flying it is because all men have dreamed of flight). There is nothing truer than myth... Reality does not have to be: it is simply what is.” ― Eugène Ionesco, Notes and Counternotes

  1. These photos are so divine. Can't wait for my next trip to Paris... whenever it will be.
I have a photo of that same green awning cafe from my trip in 2010 haha. Rue Mouffetard, right?

    1. Hey Sasha! I hope you get to go back soon! And, oui! That photo was taken on Rue Mouffetard. Good eye. ;)

  2. Beautiful personal impression. I agree that Parisians are friendlier than their rep,but you have to 'get' Paris instead of wandering around like the hapless tourist... :)
